Hunters are an important part of the PH community, but building your personal following as a maker and PH community member can be just as important. Finding a hunter shouldn't be a seen as a roadblock to makers who want to launch on Product Hunt!

Finding like minded hunters to take a look at your new product or idea is pretty easy. Each hunter has a profile page with the (typically) twitter account they used to sign up. A hunter is anyone who posts a product. A maker is anyone who had a part in creating the product. You can be both hunter and maker, or someone else can also hunt your product.

For products that don't get automatically featured, it may help to get some initial upvotes. Not just any upvotes though, you need upvotes from some of the Product Hunt Power Users — someone who has a lot of upvotes, followers, products made, products submitted, or ideally, all of these things.

To launch successfully on Product Hunt, your product needs to make it to the front page. To get there, it has to attract a lot of upvotes and engagement. Product Hunt is similar to Google search in that few people look past the first results. Audience attention is concentrated on the highest-ranking posts.
